April 25: Vision casting

April 24, 2012 By: webmaster Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

The final meeting of the academic year for the James Madison Christian Faculty Fellowship is set for next Wednesday, April 25, at 12:15 p.m. in Taylor 304. Our only agenda item is vision casting for next year.

On a related subject, congratulations are in order for Anthony Tongen, who will be in Mexico next year as a Fulbright Scholar (http://www.jmu.edu/jmuweb/general/news/general11980.shtml). Since Anthony has served as program chair (thanks, Anthony!), that means the position is open for next year.

Come with your ideas! Future programming, meeting times and study topics are all up for discussion and reflection.

God is doing some amazing things in the campus ministries here at JMU. Wouldn’t it be great if we could visit the groups to encourage their ministries? We can! 2011-12 Theme: Fruits of the Spirit in Academia

September 01, 2011 By: webmaster Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

From program chair Anthony Tongen: This year’s theme is “Fruits of the Spirit in Academia.”

We learn in Galatians 5:22-23 that the fruits of the Holy Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  What does it mean for Christ-following academics to exemplify the fruits of the Spirit?  We invite you to join us this academic year on the Wednesdays listed below from 12:15 – 1:15 to examine specific fruits of the spirit and discuss how it impacts our work.  We encourage you to bring a Bible each month as we seek to sharpen each other as Christians who desire to live out the fruits of the Spirit in the profession God has called us to here at JMU.  If you are interested in leading one of the monthly discussions on your favorite (or most challenging) fruit of the Spirit, please contact Anthony Tongen (tongenal@jmu.edu).
