From program chair Anthony Tongen: This year’s theme is “Fruits of the Spirit in Academia.”
We learn in Galatians 5:22-23 that the fruits of the Holy Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. What does it mean for Christ-following academics to exemplify the fruits of the Spirit? We invite you to join us this academic year on the Wednesdays listed below from 12:15 – 1:15 to examine specific fruits of the spirit and discuss how it impacts our work. We encourage you to bring a Bible each month as we seek to sharpen each other as Christians who desire to live out the fruits of the Spirit in the profession God has called us to here at JMU. If you are interested in leading one of the monthly discussions on your favorite (or most challenging) fruit of the Spirit, please contact Anthony Tongen (tongenal@jmu.edu).
